Q: Where can I learn more about ethical design and the psychology of influence?

A: We’ve curated a reading list which we update regularly which you can find here. You can also subscribe to our mailing list.) If you want to go deep, we recommend listening to Sam Harris' interview with former Google design ethicist Tristan Harris, titled "What is Technology Doing to Us?".

Q: I want to live better with my devices today, what can I do?

A: Check out our list of tips, habits and tools to minimize distraction and create a more intentional relationship with our devices.

Q: I have a product, app or website that I think is Time Well Spent, what should I do?

A: Fantastic! First, please run your product through our Design Checklist. Secondly, please submit your product via this form. We’re currently developing our TWS affiliate programme so you can expect to hear from us after your submission should there be a potential to collaborate. We also encourage you to check out Joe Edelman’s talk “Is Anything Worth Maximizing?” too.

Q: I want to become a part of the TWS movement and offer my skills and experience, where can I start?

Q: Does CHT have recommendations for children’s interactions with technology?

A: We recommend turning off notifications, limiting screentime and educating children about how technology is often intentionally designed to maximize addiction (see the 60 Minutes segment on "Brain Hacking").
We also encourage you to check out Common Sense Media's Guide to Digital Citizenship. Common Sense Media is a non-profit dedicated to educating children, teachers and parents about digital citizenship.

Q: I’m interested in the overlap between TWS and mindfulness based technologies.

A: There is significant overlap with our mission and values at TWS and those that are fundamental to mindfulness. Please see our below partner projects: Designing Mindfulness, CalmTech.com, and DigitalMindfulness.net.
